Welcome to Island Explorer Holidays and thank you for choosing a package holiday on Christmas and or Cocos Islands. Island Explore Holidays is committed to offering you the highest quality service in arranging a package to suit your needs.

To ensure you the best holiday and so you are fully informed of the terms and conditions which apply to your booking and travel conditions, please review the conditions below.

Island Explorer Holidays Procedures

1.1 Quotation

To obtain a quotation, you may contact your local travel agent in their country of origin, who can forward your quotation requirements to Island Explorer Holidays. Contact details of preferred travel agents are available from our web site www.islandexplorer.com.au

You must provide the travel agent with the following requirements in order to provide the correct cost:

  • Sector of travel
  • Proposed Departure date
  • Number of Adults, children and infants travelling
  • Airline class (economy on National Jet Systems or economy and or business on AustAsia Airlines)
  • Preferred accommodation and room type
  • Additional extra’s including airport transfers, diving, snorkelling, tours etc
  • Contacts details including Name, Phone, Fax and Email

Quotations may take up to 24 hours for package quotations, up to 48 hours for detailed quotations and up to 72 hours for group enquiries.

All quotations advised are valid for a period of 7 days and all prices quoted are based on current tariffs. Island Explorer Holidays reserves the right to adjust its prices in the event of unforeseen fluctuations due to exchange rates, airfares, aviation fuel costs, airport charges, hotel rates and any fee payable to other service providers, at any time, up to and including the day of departure. All quotations are subject to change until paid in full.

1.2 Service Fees

Your travel agent may include a service or booking fee on top of the quotation provided by Island Explorer Holidays. The amount of the fee charged is at the sole discretion of your travel agent. Island Explorer Holidays charges a non-refundable service fee of $20.00 per person for all domestic package bookings. These fees should be advised and included in your initial quotation.

1.3 Booking

You may book your holiday through any travel agent. You must provide the travel agent with the following:

  • Sector of travel
  • Departure and return flight date
  • Number of Adults, children and infants travelling
  • Accommodation and room type
  • Airline class (economy on National Jet Systems or economy and or business on AustAsia Airlines)
  • Additional extra’s including airport transfers, diving, snorkelling, tours etc
  • Passengers details including name ( as it appears in your passport), phone, fax, email and postal address
  • Quotation number (if advised)
  • Incoming and outgoing flight details and contact phone numbers in connecting cities
  • The method of preferred ticket collection or delivery of documents

For AustAsia bookings, it is a requirement for all passengers to provide full passport details including full passport name, passport number, passport expiration date, date of birth, place and country of issue.

Island Explorer Holidays considers an individual booking to consist of all persons travelling on the same flight dates, even if those persons are travelling together for only part of the journey. Any person with different flight dates is a separate booking and as such incurs separate fees and travels under separate conditions.

1.4 Confirmation

You will receive confirmation details of your package holiday with in 72 hours of the initial booking of your holiday package. On confirmation, you will receive a copy of these Conditions, a travel itinerary and an invoice. Island Explorer Holidays requires that you and all paying customers travelling with you read the Conditions thoroughly prior to making any payments. By making payment to Island Explorer Holidays, you acknowledge your acceptance of these Conditions.

1.5 Payments

All prices and quotations are based on cash, cheque or direct deposit payments. If paying by credit card please advise your travel agent, so you are provided with the correct cost. Additional fees will be associated with credit card payments as outlined in our Credit Card payment Authorisation Form. Conditions outlined by your travel agent will include and supersede Island Explorer Holidays payment conditions.

1.6 Deposit

Island Explorer Holidays requires a non-refundable deposit of $300 per person to be paid to your travel agent, with in 7 days of confirmation. Your travel agent may also request a deposit to be held on their behalf and all deposit amounts will be deducted from the final amount owing. If your scheduled departure date is with in 45 days of the date on which you receive confirmation, the non-refundable deposit and final balance is due immediately. Conditions outlined by your travel agent will include and supersede Island Explorer Holidays deposit conditions.

1.7 Final Payment

All payments must be received and cleared by Island Explorer Holidays no later than 45 days prior to departure. Your travel agent may request payment prior to this date. If payment is not received by the due date, Island Explorer Holidays reserves the right to cancel your booking with out notice to you and all applicable cancellation and service fees will apply. Conditions outlined by your travel agent will include and supersede Island Explorer Holidays final payment conditions.

1.8 Document and Ticket Issue

No documents, vouchers or tickets will be issued until the final amount owing has been deposited into the correct nominated Island Explorer Holidays bank account. Once monies have been received from your travel agent, Island Explorer Holidays will issue E- Vouchers, flight tickets and itineraries for the required services purchased on island and will be forwarded to your travel agent or departing airport. Fees may be incurred if couriers or other delivery methods are required.

Flight tickets can be available for collection on departure. You and all passengers travelling with you must provide photographic identification and your itinerary will be required at Singapore or Perth as appropriate prior to flight tickets being released.

1.9 Ticket Collection

Flight ticket collection is dependant on when booking is made and full payment is received by Island Explorer Holidays. If payment has been received outside 15 days from flight departure, all flight tickets can be collected from the departing ports of Singapore and Perth for free. Any tickets issued with in 14 days of departure will incur an additional fee of AUD20.00 per flight ticket. It is the responsibility of the consumer to provide payment on time or otherwise be charged the AUD20.00 per flight ticket, charged prior to collection. Flight ticket collection ports include:

Singapore Collection from Terminal 2 at check in counter 10 and 11

Singapore Transfer Transfer passengers to collect from Transfer Desk E in Terminal 2

Perth Qantas Service Desk at the International airport

1.10 Delivery and Postage

You may request that your documents be posted or couriered to you, either with in Australia or Internationally. This service is only available for bookings that have been paid in full to Island Explorer Holidays prior to 21 days before your date of departure. This service is charged at the current postage or courier rate as advised by Island Explorer Holidays to your travel agent.

IMPORTANT NOTE: It is your responsibility to advise your travel agent on booking and prior to payment, as to which method of ticket collection or delivery is required.

1.11 Late Booking Fee

Any booking made within 14 days of travel will incur a one off non-refundable fee of AUD50.00. Bookings made with in 5 days of travel may incur an additional airline fee of AUD100.00. Conditions outlined by your travel agent will include and supersede Island Explorer Holidays late booking fee conditions.

1.12 Land Only Booking

All bookings which do not require any flight components will be charged AUD50.00 per person. Conditions outlined by your travel agent will include and supersede Island Explorer Holidays land only fee.

1.13 Amendment Fee

Once a booking is confirmed by Island Explorer Holidays, you must pay a fee of $50 per change per service. In relation to group bookings, the amount of the Amendment Fee will be advised dependant upon the nature and circumstances of each particular request. All amendments are subject to availability and the Amendment Fee is payable in addition to any other fees charged by the tour operator, hotel provider, airline, any other service provider and travel agent. Conditions outlined by your travel agent will include and supersede Island Explorer Holidays amendment fee conditions.

1.14 Cancellation

If any member of a package booking cancels their booking, the whole package will be cancelled and the deposit of $300 per person remains non-refundable. Hotels, airlines and other service providers may impose additional cancellation fees which will be passed on to you in addition to the $300 per person non-refundable deposit. Cancellations within 45 days of departure will incur further additional fees up to 100% of the price paid for the package, at the discretion of Island Explorer Holidays and it’s service providers. Island Explorer Holidays recommends all passengers purchase travel insurance to cover for any unforseen circumstances that may necessitate cancellation. Conditions outlined by your travel agent will include and supersede Island Explorer Holidays cancellation fees.

1.15 Refunds

Prior to travel, any refunds will be less any cancellation fees associated with the package purchased. All refunds will be processed as quickly as possible but may take up to 6 weeks to complete. After commencement of travel, no refund will be applicable to be accepted. Conditions outlined by your travel agent will include and supersede Island Explorer Holidays refund policy.

1.16 Passenger Details

It is your responsibility to provide the correct passenger information to your travel agent. Correct passport names, phone numbers and incoming flight details are required. Any incorrect details provided will incur current amendment and cancellation fees and will be forwarded to you from your travel agent. After you have received confirmation of your booking, as per the itinerary and payment has been received, Island Explorer Holidays accepts no liability for incorrect passenger details. Conditions outlined by your travel agent will include and supersede Island Explorer Holidays passenger detail policy.

1.17 Identification

All passengers travelling from Singapore to Christmas Island will require a current passport with minimum 6 month validity from date of return. Passengers travelling from Perth to Christmas Island and or the Cocos Islands, will require current photographic identification or 100 points of identification. It is your responsibility to ensure correct and current identification is available for all passengers including children and infants. Island Explorer Holidays accepts no liability in the event of amendment or cancellation due to incorrect identification being provided.

1.18 Visa’s

For travel from Perth, no visa is required, however residents of countries other than Australia may be required to show an Australian Entry Visa. Australian residents do not require a visa to travel to Christmas or the Cocos Islands. Island Explorer Holidays accepts no liability in the event of cancellation due to your failure to obtain the correct visas. It is your responsibility to ensure all passengers visa’s are valid. Island Explorer Holidays package prices do not include required visas to enter Australia and are not arranged or organised by our office or staff. Australian visa information can be obtained from www.immi.gov.au or www.dfat.gov.au

1.19 Travel Insurance

Island Explorer Holidays strongly recommends all passengers purchase travel insurance to cover for unforseen circumstances and cancellation fees.

1.20 Disclaimer

Island Explorer Holidays will exercise all reasonable care in arranging your package holiday. Island Explorer Holidays accepts liability which is the direct result of negligence or wilful misconduct of its employees. To the extent permitted by law, Island Explorer Holidays, its officers, employees and Related Bodies Corporate (as that term is defined in the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth)) (Island Explorer Group) makes no representation or warranty regarding the quality or nature of the services provided to you and excludes all other warranties, terms and conditions (except any such warranty, term or condition which can not by law be excluded).

To the extent permitted by law, Island Explorer Group excludes liability for:

(a) any injury, damage, loss. Delay, theft, additional expenses or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by events that are beyond our control; and
(b) any consequential loss, howsoever caused (including negligence),

and you agree to indemnify and keep indemnified the Island Explorer Group against any claim, action, proceeding or cost in relation to such liability, loss or damage.

Island Explorer Group excludes liability for and makes no representation or warranty regarding the services or standards of airlines, hotels, other service providers, travel agents and nominated wholesalers. Island Explorer Group excludes liability for any loss or damage arising out of the negligence, act or omission of any supplier or other third party.

Nothing in this provision limits any right that you have under non-excludable provisions of the Trade Practices Act 1974 and Fair Trading Acts, where the liability of Island Explorer Group can not be excluded but can be limited, such liability to the value of the purchased travel arrangements.
